Meet our Performers:

In Order of Appearance

MATT MITCHELL

Matt Mitchell is excited to be in his second Porch Plays with 5th Wall. Matt studied theatre at VCU and the William Esper Studio in NYC. He has performed in dozens of shows and was an animatronics operator at the famous (but now sadly closed) “Jekyll and Hyde Club” in Times Square, where he voiced and controlled 15 different state-of-the-art animatronic characters live for thousands of guests every day. Matt was most recently seen as Ollie in Radiant Vermin (5th Wall), in which he got to experience that rare privilege in the theatre world of starring alongside a loved one when he costarred with his incredible fianceé Kaitlin. They won best play at the RTCC awards so I guess they didn't totally screw it up. A few other past credits include: Frank in The School for Lies (Richmond Shakes) for which he was nominated for the RTCC award for best lead actor, Charles Dickens in the world premiere of The Raven Doesn’t Talk (Strawberry Street Theatre Festival), Katurian in The Pillowman (Nomad Theatre), Jeff in Kimberly Akimbo (Cadence) for which he won an RTCC award for best supporting actor. Sherlock Holmes in a three-person farce version of Hound of the Baskervilles(Virginia Rep), Dorante in The Liar (Henley Street Theatre, RTCC best lead actor nom), Roy in Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music (Virginia Rep, RTCC best-supporting actor nom), Father Welsh in The Lonesome West, and himself in his one-man show Space-man.
