Our Mission

is to provide insights into the human condition through theatrical expression.  We are committed to the growth and development of new works and new talent through readings, workshops, and productions which are relevant to the times. Having formed from a company deprived of its space, we have taken our leading concerns into the greater world.

OUR NAME 

refers to the “fourth wall”, a metaphor for the imaginary “wall” at the front of the stage through which the audience sees the world of the play. The “5th wall” represents yet another dimension to the theatrical experience.

OUR CORE BELIEFS 

We believe theatre can allow artists and audience members alike to view the world from a different perspective.  

We believe that all theatrical endeavors should nourish artistic expression and provide an atmosphere of encouragement and trust for all those involved in both the creative aspects and administrative aspects.

our history

In February 2013, Carol Piersol, Founding Artistic Director of the Firehouse Theatre Project, and Billy Christopher Maupin, a renowned Richmond actor and director, joined forces and began producing and presenting theatrical productions in the Richmond area as an independent entity. In the first year they produced four acclaimed productions in four different Richmond venues, and they have continued to do so since.
